Innovative solutions that are transforming the interrelationships between the public and private sector
The Center for Public Policy and Private Enterprise at the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy is dedicated to improving public-sector management and operations, including how the government interacts with private enterprises; enhancing private sector competitiveness; and achieving tangible benefits from public/private networks. The center collaborates with and receives support from foundations, government agencies, corporations, other universities and government research enterprises.
The center features faculty, researchers, fellows, professional staff and graduate assistants with experience in government, business, nonprofit and civic organizations, with expertise in key policy areas ranging from acquisition and national security to regional governance and information assurance.
The Center for Public Policy and Private Enterprise strives to:
- Operate at the intersection of public and private interests, promoting innovative and effective solutions to many of the 21st century’s most challenging issues.
- Conduct research, forums, seminars, workshops and educations programs that engage senior leaders from across sectors to examine best practices, develop solutions, enhance collaborative efforts, and inform policy recommendations.
- Improve communication, effectiveness and efficiency in areas like supply chain management, government sourcing, and Department of Defense business modernization efforts.
