Dr. Shelley Hearne is one the country's leading experts in environmental and public health. She currently serves as the principal investigator for CityHealth (www.CityHealth.org), advises NACCHO's Big Cities Health Coalition (hwww.bigcitieshealth.org), and serves as the executive director of the Forsythia Foundation. Previously, Dr. Hearne was the managing director of the Health Group at the Pew Charitable Trusts. She was also the founding Executive Director of the Trust for America’s Health, a national health advocacy organization dedicated to preventing epidemics and protecting people. Dr. Hearne will be joined by UMD MPP and GWiPP alum, Catherine Patterson, who is a Senior Program Officer responsible for the administration and management of grants at the de Beaumont Foundation, which works to strengthen and transform public health in the United States.
