FY19 Career Services BrochureDo you envision yourself analyzing national security policy for an agency within the Federal government? Do you consider your interests more aligned with state budgeting or local policy issues?  Do you dream of working for a nonprofit focused on education policy? Do you imagine applying your strategic thinking and quantitative skills in a consulting firm?  Are you returning to school to focus on international development?

Whatever your passion, students at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy want to make a difference and our degree programs prepare them to work successfully across all sectors. Career Services and Alumni Relations is committed to helping you transform your career vision into reality.

Career Services is an important part of student life at the UMD School of Public Policy. We support students in developing meaningful careers through individual counseling, professional development, networking assistance and internship and job acquisition. Our graduates are extremely attractive to recruiters from the public, private and nonprofit sectors. The vast majority of UMD School of Public Policy students graduate having completed multiple internships during the course of their education.

Many internship and job opportunities exist for our students because of the dedication and work of our extensive alumni network.  Immediately upon enrollment, students receive unfettered access to the Maryland School of Public Policy’s Alumni Directory. This powerful resource provides early exposure to the world of opportunity that awaits you as a graduate.

As you consider your options, we invite you to explore our most recent Internship and Employment Report . For more information on applying, please visit the Office of Admissions.

Should you have further career-related questions during the course of your application and decision-making process, please contact C. Bryan Kempton, Director, Career Services and Alumni Relations.
