Books Recommended for Purchase

Ivo H. Daalder and James M. Lindsay, America Unbound: The Bush Revolution in Foreign Policy (Brookings, 2003) . READ THIS BOOK FIRST: It will be the assigned reading for the February 2nd seminar meeting.

Graham Allison and Philip Zelikow, Essence of Decision: Explaining the Cuban Missile Crisis, Second Edition (Longman, 1999). This is a thoroughly revised and updated version of the book many students encountered in earlier courses. Therefore students must use the second edition, not the original.

Eugene R. Wittkopf and James M. McCormick, editors, The Domestic Sources of American Foreign Policy (Rowman and Littlefield, 2004), 4th edition. (Do NOT use an earlier edition--the book has a new collection of essays.)
