Biography
Ioana Petrescu received a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Economics from Harvard University and a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Wellesley College. Prior to joining the University of Maryland, she worked as an N.R.I. Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC. Her fields are public finance, economic development and international political economy. Her research interests range from taxation in transitional and developing countries, to black markets, entrepreneurship, and economic sanctions. She was born in Bucharest, Romania, lived in Bucharest, Boston and Washington, DC. [CV]
