Graduate Program

The Academy of Excellence in Local Governance has a graduate program which offers concentrations in four distinct topic areas: Leadership; Budget and Finance; Structure of Government; and Land Use for those who have graduated from the Academy of Excellence in Local Governance. These follow-on classes provide additional opportunities for local government officials to not only expand their knowledge base with topical and relevant classes but also to continue to develop a network of peers  and colleagues. Check back here for upcoming events and classes as they become available.

If you are a graduate of the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance, please join us on Tuesday, June 6 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. for a one-day Graduate Workshop hosted at the Local Government Insurance Trust (LGIT) in Hanover, MD.  The topic will be "Government, Civility, and Negotiation" and Captain Mark Adamshick will present a framework for negotiation based on the work of Fisher and Ury, the authors of "Getting to Yes".  Learn how to apply this concept to local government and developing your communities.
