Mar 3 - Kara Ball "An Inconvenient Truth: The Slideshow " University of Maryland School of
Public Policy alumna Kara Ball was trained by former Vice-President
Al Gore and his team of scientists and educators to present the slide
show featured in An Inconvenient Truth, the documentary film about
the global warming crisis that recently received two Academy Award
nominations. Kara Ball serves as Special Assistant to the President at the National Wildlife Federation. As America’s conservation organization, National Wildlife Federation has identified as a top priority the need to wake up America to the urgency of addressing global warming. Kara helps advance this priority by outreaching in her professional and personal capacities. She has been trained by The Climate Project and former Vice-President Al Gore to give the slideshow featured in An Inconvenient Truth. She has also worked with her husband the Reverend Jim Bill, Executive Director of the Evangelical Environmental Network, by assisting with the “What Would Jesus Drive” campaign and the Evangelical Climate Initiative, a groundbreaking statement by evangelical leaders supporting the need to address climate change. Prior to her work at National Wildlife Federation, Kara served as Executive Director at the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship in Virginia and as Director for Sustainable Countrysides Programs at the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. Kara holds a Master of Public Policy with a Concentration in Environmental Policy from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. |
