The School of Public Policy encourages outreach and collaboration with the greater University of Maryland community and the policy world at- large, including assistance to non-profit organizations. OEP is able to assist the School in disseminating important research and in contributing new information to policy makers, analysts, and educators. OEP participates in several research projects that enhance the public good by engaging citizens, community and corporate leaders in dialogue about public policy issues.

Recently, OEP has worked with several local non-profit organizations in the area of public housing and has been involved in several projects concerning labor policy and fair labor practices. OEP's dedicated and talented senior fellows and affiliate faculty partner with organizations to provide knowledge and conduct research and studies across several policy areas including financial management, environmental policy and regulation, urban and regional planning, smart growth, housing policy and asset management, negotiation and labor policy, and performance-based management.
