Construction Policy Research Program
In 2001, OEP received a three-year Construction Policy Research Grant from the National Institute on Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) through the Center to Protect Workers Rights. The objective of the grant is to establish a research program at the University to examine questions of construction labor policy, with an emphasis on worker health and safety. There are two ongoing research projects, one on workers compensation in the Maryland construction industry which has recently concluded and is awaiting publication and the other on best value contracting. The Construction Policy Research Grant should continue through June 2006.
