Susanne Slater is a Senior Fellow for the Office of Executive Programs at the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland. She has served as a member of the senior faculty teaching finance for over ten years. Currently, Ms. Slater teaches several finance courses for the CIA in a program that allows the employees to obtain a four-course certificate in Public Sector Financial Management from University of Maryland and then incorporate that towards a MBA through the University of Baltimore.

From 1993 to 1999, Ms. Slater was the Assistant Dean of the School of Public Policy and the Director of the Office of Executive Programs. From 1983 to 1986, Ms. Slater was the chief legislative aide to Senator Daniel P. Moynihan on the Senate Finance and Senate Budget Committees for issues relating to the budget, tax and appropriations. During the period 1979-83, she

served in the White House Office of Management and Budget as the chief analyst for credit policy, advising the Director on all aspects of loan guarantees and direct lending programs. She also served as lead staff for the Cabinet Council on Credit Policy, a high level inter-agency task force composed of the Secretaries of Treasury, HUD, Agriculture and Education and White House staff. In 1979, she served on the staff of Governor Bill Clinton and advised him and members of his cabinet on inter-governmental budget and banking issues pertaining to the economic development of the state of Arkansas.

Ms. Slater holds an MBA from Cornell University and has published numerous articles related to credit policy and development finance.
