designed to promote diversity and attract underrepresented individuals to
the fields of public policy and international affairs.

¡Adelante! offers scholarships in business-related fields and leadership
training for college juniors and seniors.
American
Association of University Women (AAUW)
The AAUW Educational Foundation provides funds to advance education,
research, and self-development for women, and to foster equity and positive
societal change. To qualify for a fellowship or grant, applicants must
demonstrate scholarly or professional excellence as identified in the
program criteria. Preference is given to women whose civic, community, or
professional work shows a commitment to advancing the lives of women and
girls.
American Economic Association Summer Minority Program (ASHE)
ASHE is hosted by the University of Colorado at Denver and NC A&T State
University. The program seeks to prepare talented minority undergraduates
for doctoral programs in Economics and related disciplines. Program
participants are expected to have completed at least two years of
undergraduate study (including substantial mathematics), but many
participants are presently working, and are considering graduate school.
Most admitted students will receive funds for books, housing and living
expenses, plus an honorarium of $1600.
American Indian College Fund (AICF)
AICF has historically provided grants and scholarship funds to the 32 tribal
colleges located across the United States. They also have a limited number
of scholarships for American Indian students attending mainstream
universities and colleges. For information contact the Scholarship

American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC)
AIGC provides fellowships to full-time graduate students attending
accredited graduate schools in the United States. Applicants must be an
enrolled member of a U.S. federally recognized American Indian tribe or
Alaska Native Group, or possess one fourth degree (federally recognized)
Indian blood.
American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES)
AISES offers a list of scholarship resources for American Indian and Native
American students pursuing degrees in the fields of science and engineering.
Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs
(APSIA)
APSIA is an association of 28 graduate schools of international affairs and
15 affiliated institutions based in the United States and abroad. APSIA
member schools are dedicated to advancing global understanding and
cooperation by preparing men and women to assume positions of leadership in
world affairs. The Association is a not-for-profit, non-governmental
organization that serves as a source of information on professional
international affairs education, represents the interests of professional
international affairs education in national and international forums, and
coordinates activities among and for its member institutions.
Casualty Actuarial Society/Society of Actuaries Actuarial
Scholarships for Minority Students
The purpose of the Actuarial Scholarships for Minority Students program is
to provide scholarships at the undergraduate or graduate level for students
interested in pursuing actuarial careers. Scholarships are awarded on the
basis of individual merit and financial need and are renewable.
Congressional
Black Caucus Foundation
The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Spouses' Scholarship program
provides minority undergraduate students with scholarships.
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, Inc. (CHCI)
CHCI's educational services are designed to provide Latino students with the
tools and resources they need to succeed in attaining a higher education.
CHCI provides information on college preparation, scholarships, internships,
and fellowships.
DaimlerChrysler Guide to Hispanic Financial Aid Opportunities
Offers information on scholarships, grants and other financial aid sources
targeting Latino students.

This center is contracted by the U.S. Department of Education. A telephone
representative can assist you with general information on eligibility for
federal scholarships, grants and loans.
Gates Millennium Scholars
This scholarship is available to African American, American Indian/Alaska
Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American citizens who
plan to enter an accredited college or university as a full-time student.
Applicants must have a significant financial need (i.e., meets the federal
Pell Grant eligibility criteria), and demonstrated leadership abilities
through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other
activities.
Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU)
To be eligible to apply for one of HACU's scholarships, students must be
attending a HACU Member or Partner college or university and met the
scholarship requirements. Scholarship amounts also vary depending on the
program, usually ranging from $500 - $2,000 per year. In addition to HACU's
general scholarship programs, HACU also has scholarship opportunities for
students to attend the HACU Annual Conference held in Washington, DC.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF)
The HSF serves outstanding Hispanic students in higher education throughout
the United States and Puerto Rico. Scholarship programs are offered in the
following areas: college retention, high school, community college transfer,
and professional.
Institute for International
Public Policy (IIPP)
The purpose of IIPP is to increase awareness of and interest in careers in
international service among undergraduate students, especially students who
are members of under represented minority groups, by identifying, recruiting
and preparing them through a sequential program of policy institutes, study
abroad, language training, internships and graduate education. The IIPP
fellowship program is open to sophomore students enrolled full-time at a
four year institution, have a GPA of 3.2 or higher and be a U.S. citizen or
permanent resident.
League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) National
Scholarship Fund
LULAC offers scholarships for undergraduate and graduate college students
through its educational counterpart, the LULAC National Educational Service
Centers, Inc.
Mellon Foundation's Mellon Minority Undergraduate Fellowship Program
The program is designed to encourage undergraduate minorities students to
pursue doctoral degrees. Program support consists of faculty mentoring,
stipends for summer research activities, repayment of student loans and
compensation for assignments related to their academic interests.
Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF)
MALDEF awards law school scholarships to Latino students in their first,
second or third year of law school, and communications scholarships to
students pursuing a graduate or professional degree in the field of
communications.
Public Policy and International Affairs Program (PPIA)
The mission of the PPIA Program is to encourage the participation of
Americans of color and other underrepresented groups in public policy and
international affairs. PPIA provides summer public policy institutes at
leading public policy graduate schools, at which undergraduate students of
color could learn about public policy and prepare for admission to graduate
school and offers substantial graduate student fellowships for participating
students once they are admitted to a graduate school.
Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs/Graduate Foreign Affairs
Fellowship Program
The U.S. Department of State Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship
Program is for outstanding students who have an interest in pursuing a
Foreign Service career with the U.S. Department of State. The programs are
open to students who are in their sophomore year of undergraduate studies at
the time of application or, who will be enrolled for the following academic
year in the first year of a two year full-time graduate degree program
relevant to international affairs.
United
Negro College Fund (UNCF)
UNCF awards scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students attending a
UNCF member college or university as well as to those students attending
other historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and majority
institutions.
Women's Research and Education Institute Congressional
Fellowship for Women and Public Policy
WREI awards annual fellowships to a select number of graduate students with
a proven commitment to equity for women. WREI Fellows gain practical
policymaking experience and graduate credit as they work from January to
August as Congressional legislative aides in Washington, D.C. Fellows
receive stipends for tuition and living expenses.
