Certificate Programs

The University currently offers three graduate certificate programs, specializing in intelligence analysis and security studies:

  • The Certificate in Intelligence Analysis
  • The Certificate in Information Assurance

Each certificate consists of four, three-credit courses (12 graduate academic credits in total) and is offered in several formats, including semester-long course offerings and executive, condensed formats. All certificate program course sessions incorporate a variety of learning styles and students' learning in the classroom is reinforced through enrichment experiences such as brown-bag lunch seminars with leading thinkers and practitioners in the field of public policy and intelligence analysis.

The School, through the James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership and the Office of Executive Programs, specializes in developing and delivering executive education and will work with clients to tailor each program to address specific client challenges and desired competencies. Please contact Tom Kennedy, Director of the Office of Executive Programs and of the Center for Leadership and Organizational Development, if interested in developing a certificate program for your organization or agency.

To pursue certificate programs for academic credit, interested candidates must apply for Advanced Special Student Status through the Graduate School, if not already enrolled in a degree program.
