GWIPP was established to promote the presence and contributions of women in the public policy field. An organization for women and women's interest based at University of Maryland School of Public Policy.

Maranda Sorrells, President The organization works to serve students as students and as professionals; to develop a community built on relationships among students and alumni of the University of Maryland School of Public Policy; to provide personal and professional development for its members; to encourage women's representation among the faculty and in MSPP decision-making, and to empower women leaders.
