Marie is a certified nurse-midwife and nurse practitioner at Mary's Center for Maternal and Child Care in Washington, DC. She was born and raised in Manhattan and graduated from Bronx High School of Science. Marie attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, received a BS in nursing from Boston University in 1980, and an MS in nursing from the University of California, San Francisco in 1985. Before becoming a midwife, she worked as a nurse at Boston City and Beth Israel hospitals in Boston, and Alta Bates, Kaiser, and Merritt hospitals in the San Francisco Bay area. She has been a nurse-midwife at the North Shore Birth Center and Harvard Community Health Plan in the Boston area, and Group Health Association, Lakner and Gerber, Annapolis Ob-Gyn, and at the Pregnancy Aid Center in the Washington, DC, area. She also has been a clinical instructor at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. | Emily will enter Harvard Law School in Fall 2008. She graduated summa cum laude in May 2008 with a BA in government and politics from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she was in the honors program, a recipient of the Banneker/Key scholarship, and a member of 2008 National Champion Mock Trial team. She spent summer 2007 at Oxford University, and spring 2006 at the American University of Rome. She graduated in June 2004 from the science and technology program at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, where she played on the lacrosse team and was a member of the Latin honor society. Emily was born in Livermore, California, on 1 January 1986. She attended Greenwood Nursery School, University Park Elementary School (El Granada Elementary School for fifth grade), and Kenmoor Middle School. She performed with the University Park Children’s Choir and Ensemble, Peninsula Girl’s Chorus, Prince George’s Honor Chorus, and with Bonnie Rideout on Gi’me Elbow Room and DinoRock on Grammy-nominated Dreamosaurus. Max is a sophomore at St. Mary's College of Maryland, where he is majoring in English. He graduated in June 2007 from the science and technology program at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, where he played on the varsity lacrosse team. In his spare time, he reviews rock music and plays guitar. Max was born in Riverdale, Maryland, on 25 January 1989. He attended Greenwood Nursery School, University Park Elementary (grades 1-5), El Granada Elementary (grade 2); and St. Anselm’s Abbey School (grades 6-8). Max was a member of the University Park Children’s Choir and Ensemble and was for four years a member of the Maryland Boy Choir (winner of the 1999 Grammy for best choral performance). Max performed with Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer on Changing Channels (nominated for a Grammy) and All Wound Up; with DinoRock in the role of "Nelson" on Grammy-nominated Dreamosausus, and with Sue Trainor on Under Tables Out Back Doors.
