As the nature of government and governance continues to change and evolve, it
is essential that our nation´s current and future leaders are equipped
with the skills and tools needed to craft and implement responsible policies.
In order to achieve success and have real impact, today´s professionals
must excel as policy entrepreneurs while managing within the rules and regulations
of the federal government; they must lead staff at all levels to seize the opportunity
inherent in change; and, with the blurring of roles among the public, private
and non-profit sectors, they must operate effectively not only in their chosen
fields, but also across sectors.
A dedicated public professional such as yourself, therefore, requires an educational
experience that is at once rigorous, versatile, and comprehensive. Our degree
program delivers this experience and provides you with the Capacity, the Capability,
and the Clarity to excel as public service leaders. The Executive Master Program provides
not only an academically challenging curriculum designed and led by the nationally-ranked
faculty of the School, but presents you with a unique opportunity to access
and build a valuable network of public, private and non-profit leaders and policy
experts through the Council´s and the School´s contacts and activities. Mindful of your needs as a busy professional, the Executive Master Program is offered during convenient evening hours, with classes held at the Council´s facilities in downtown Washington, D.C.
In the pages that follow, we invite you to explore the range of our interests
and activities. These activities are linked by our common commitment to make
a difference in the world by strengthening, through innovation and with an eye
on results, public sector leadership and management. If you share our vision
and wish to expand and sharpen the skills required for successful public service,
join us. Plan now to make that difference.
